References to Other Works

Notations that allow expressing external bibliographic references or intra-corpus remands.

Both share the same syntactic convention: a colon : introduces sublocations, while an equals sign = separates key and value within each one (see Citation of External Works in Bibliography and Reference to a Textual Locus).
